Oh my goodness! What could they possibly what on a metal air conditioner? I thought they were Downy Woodpeckers but all hopped up on speed or something because it looked like their "hair" was sticking up like Don King. We had Downy Woodpeckers at our last house and I think there are some here as well. Hooray for bird dogs! :)

We have several woodpeckers living in our trees & they make quite a racket. I figured as loud as they are, they had to be the big guys like what you have on your property, but no, they are the little ones. What is funny, but nerve racking is occasionally one will start pecking on out METAL air conditioner/heater pump. Sounds like bombs are being dropped on the house when they do that. Fortunately, the 4 dogs quickly chase them away when they do that.
