Stitches

Stitches

This is my goat Stitches. She was due to kid on the 27th. Today is the 29th! She is in no hurry to have these babies. In fact I think she enjoys the fact at my stress level increases with every hour.

Not a care in the world.

Not a care in the world.

See how she is toying with me. She is pretending that I don’t exist. I still remember the first time I had a goat in labor. See the story here. So my history with goat delivery is a little on edge.

Yoo Hoo

Yoo Hoo

Yoo Hoo is doing much better now. We were not sure she was going to live at first. She has bounced back and is annoying everyone in the goat yard. We call her our “circus” goat. She likes to jump on trees or the walls of the barn and do backbends. She will also walk on her hind feet to reach the leaves on the trees. Such a silly girl.

But for now….we wait on Stitches. Sigh…

Y’all come back now!

About the author

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.
