Spring has Sprung!

Spring is in full swing around here. We are planting our seedlings in the garden and creating new gardens to plant herbs. Samuel is excited about planting the mint and other herbs.

We also have new additions around here as well. We had five baby goats in one day! I will introduce you… The boys named the kids this year. We went with a Harry Potter theme last year so the boys are sticking to a different theme this year. All these kids are named using Bible names. Ruth was a mother first-at about noon on Saturday she had a girl and a boy.
Since the mother is Ruth they named the girl Naomi. The boy was named Aaron after Y had her kids.

Y had her babies that evening and she had triplets! Two girls and a boy. Since the girls are sisters they named them Mary and Martha. Martha has brown and black markings around her eyes so they named her Martha because Martha in the Bible felt overworked and left to do all the work when Jesus came to visit. Mary was sitting listening to Jesus instead of helping her sister. I wish I could take credit for this but the boys are the ones that came up with that. Very cute. They also named the boy Moses. Aaron is Moses brother (from another mother).

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.
