It is finally a beautiful day! The sun is out full force and it is a little warmer especially in the sun. So we decided to take Samuel’s chicks out for a walk in the sunshine. This bunch of chicks is a little more timid than the others. They stayed in a huddle most of the time. Some of them broke off into their own huddle.

 

Bullet is ever vigilant in his watching the chickens. He takes his job very seriously. You cannot even lure him away with Boston Creme Pie yogurt. He was not going to take that bait until everyone was back safe in the pool …and he was kicked out of the garage.

 

Samuel also named one of the chicks. There is one that is very beautiful and different from the others because she has the most brown on her. He was trying to think of a country name that sounded beautiful so he thought of Darlin’. Pretty good name.

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.
