new dehydrator
I got my new toy when I dropped off the boys with the Grandparents. They had given me a dehydrator for my birthday but let me pick out the one I wanted and it was shipped to them so they brought it up with them.

I am on my way to dehydrating everything in the house. I have done zucchini chips, shredded zucchini, bananas, and some really small plums that a friend from church gave us. When we get back from picking up the boys I am going to try tomatoes and herbs. Yumm!
I am not happy with the way the bananas came out. They are more like banana gummies than banana chips. The zucchini chips are not as crisp as I would like either. I guess the zucchini could have stayed in longer. I love the way the shredded came out though for soups or stews or anything else I can put it in and trick my family into eating vegetables. Between my VitaMix and my new Excalibur dehydrator we will be eating healthy, by golly!
I wanted the dehydrator to make garlic powder with next year’s crop of garlic. I only planted enough for seed for next year due to the move and short time constraint. I will have a huge garlic garden next year! Whoo hooo!
