Window to the Valley

It is a really rainy day here today but as you can see, everyday is beautiful. You can see a few puffs of fog in the distance. That is why I call it Gatlinburg north. Lovely!

We also got a loader in the front yard today. The logging guy brought it in preparation for moving timber when the weather is drier.

We are scheduled for rain for the next three days so it will be at least next week before it gets some action.

Given the rainy day the boys decided to take a dip in the hot tub. In the last house we had a baby pool that they thoroughly enjoyed but now they have a pool with warm water and bubbles!

Even the chickens enjoy the rainy day.

It looks like they were getting ready to take a nap. Even chickens know it is a good day for a snooze.

I almost forgot! We have a camper for the weekend. “Rudy” is the most adorable shih tzu/Maltese mix. He is still a baby but he is so much fun. The boys are toting him around the house and even Bullet loves to have a playmate around the house. Bullet is so good, I am amazed how gentle he is, like he knows that Rudy is a baby. They are having fun chasing each other around the couch.

Y’all come back now!

About the author

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.

We love the picture and we really miss rudy! We will see him Sunday afternoon. We just had a great time at the pool. And we’ll see you tomorrow!

Awww, Rudy is such a cutie! Those designer-mixes are often cuter than the dogs they come from.
    The chicks are really growing!
That hot tub looks heavenly. I want one like that!
