Haircuts

We are really trying to get our school year started off with good habits. We are trying to get up and dressed and get breakfast and then get down to school after chores. We have done really well for the last 3 days because they rented a Wii game, “Indiana Jones Lego”. It is amazing how well they can focus when they want to.

Yesterday we got most of the school done before we had haircuts. This was the first time my boys told our hairdresser what they wanted. They did very well. Mary asked Samuel if he wanted gel in his hair to make the curls stand out. That intrigued him but he said ” What I really want is a Mohawk”. AGGGH! She nodded her head understandingly and said “We can do that with gel”. Whew! Crisis averted.
Mohawk?

Mohawk?

Here is a side view so it is a little easier to tell. Now that is a Mohawk that I can live with. He looks more like a rooster, so add one more “rooster” to the flock.

Y’all come back now!

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.

It’s only a bribe if the reward is for doing a wrong act. Otherwise, a reward, whether it’s the feeling one gets for a virtuous act, the opportunity for an activity one enjoys or seeks, or some material or symbolic item, or attention, or food, or the opportunity to avoid something unpleasant, is a reward.

    Love the hair!
and bribing, er, games, is a great motivation for my boys. My junior (w/ learning challenges) is up, showered, and doing his independant work before any of his siblings are even up. why? cuz we just finally replaced our PS3, and he can play it before our table group studies at noon/1:ish if ALL his other work is done! ;^D
btw…what is it w/ boys and the desire for a mohawk? lol it never seems to get outdated??

Love the rooster mohawk!!! I agree with you – that would be a mohawk that I could live with!
