Frontier Days

Posted By on May 8, 2009

We had a great time at Frontier Days! We got rained on only briefly so it was not a complete wash out. We went with a Homeschool group from Springfield Tn. Thank you to Miss Melissa for inviting us. It was great to meet new friends. There were several boys in the group and they all got along great and were about the same ages. Yea!

We learned all about the “Good Old Days” in Tn. and Appalachia. The boys loved the Potter, Geologist, Blacksmith and the Storyteller the best. No soap maker though. Bummer! We took a lot of pictures so I am trying out the slide show feature above. I hope I got it to work correctly. If you’d like a better look at the individual photos, just click where it says “View All Images”. Also, if you mouse over the photos in the slideshow, the captions will pop up. Have fun!

Y’all come back now!

About the author

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.

Loved being on your field trip. How about sending me those photos for a scrapbook, Quinn! Remember they need to be larger pixels. Also the one of the peeps in the pink box!

    Elaine,
It sounds like it was a great trip. You have become such a techie. Way to go girl.
