Finishing the Hay

Posted By on September 7, 2009

We got home from the Fair grounds on Sunday after picking up the boys’ prize money and Randy was finishing baling the hay. I was lucky to get the car stopped in time because Samuel remembered it was his turn to drive the tractor.

The boys had so much fun hanging with the guys. Samuel drove the tractor for a while and then Jacob and then Randy let them have another turn. He is very good to my boys and very patient. Here he is kicked back and letting Samuel do all the work.

Just relaxing

While Samuel is working hard I see this 4 wheeler coming down the driveway. Randy’s roommate Scott is playing while Randy and Samuel work…Wait a minute…Is that Jacob!? Goodness sake! My youngest has now ridden and driven a tractor and a 4 wheeler before me! Some kids get all the breaks.

If you look in the background I think Quinn is jealous also. I didn’t realize that he was bringing up the rear on a lawnmower? He was headed up to the end of the drive to mow where the tractor didn’t cut hay.

wish it was a 4 wheeler

They got everything baled in the nick of time. About an hour after they finished we got a lot of thunder and lightening and heavy rain. We even had a tornado warning thrown into the mix. Even the cat was praying for us…well, maybe he was just napping.

C.C saying a prayer?

Y’all come back now!

About the author

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.

Pleeeaze!!!! make me a disc of those photos. Do not send them online. They do not copy well and the pixels are too small for a book. Love the last several editions.
