Chick furniture?

Posted By on March 10, 2009

chick furnitureQuinn comes home from work through the garage each day and passes by the chicks,  and last night he told me that he had looked into the enclosure to say “hi” to the the ‘peeps’ and that he noticed that I had built them furniture!?!  Well, I never thought of it that way!  I laughed so hard.  I will probably be known as the bird lady when I am old.  So I decided to take a few pictures of my chicks and how they are growing and their new furniture.

chick couch?

chick couch?

I made two perches to try to keep them from flying up to the top of the food jar.  It has not worked.  They are getting pretty strong.  I hope I don’t find chickens flying around the garage and landing on my soap rack.  I guess we better get busy building their hoop house.

Y’all come back now.

About the author

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.

Hi Elaine- that sounds like something Quinn would say – LOL. It really does look like furniture.
    You built that?
    Awesome.
I sooo would love to live on a farm. Sounds like a true dream to me – especially if it’s away from the city violence that I deal with everyday.
You’re doing a GREAT job here.
Even though I can’t live at a farm I can experience it through your blog;-D
    Blessings,
