Boys in Georgia

Posted By on July 23, 2009

Well, my boys are in the Georgia mountains with their grandparents this week. They have a full schedule of activities planned.

Picnic in Tennessee

Picnic in Tennessee

I met them at a picnic spot on the Nickajack Lake in Tn, north of Chattanooga. We had a picnic lunch and then they ripped them out of my hands took them for a fun filled week. I have never been away from my children for this long so it will definitely be weird around here with out them. I know they are in good hands and will have a terrific time. Quinn and I will catch up with them after the weekend for a couple of days.

Y’all come back now!

About the author

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.

A few weeks ago, my ten-year-old child spent a few days with family friends in St. Louis. Other than a day or two with neighbors or relatives, she’s only been away from me once, and I was in the hospital at that time. It was a real milestone for us. Weird? Not at all. I liked it! No little pointy elbows poking me in bed, no screeches, no objections to my cooking.
I look forward to the empty nest she will leave me when she finishes school.
