Birth of a Barn

Posted By on December 19, 2009

I seem to be pinching myself a lot lately. The barn is under construction and making good progress. I will be able to get the chickens settled in their new home before Christmas. Here are a few pictures of the progress.

The concrete will cover the feed room and the milking room and the General Store. It looks so nice! The boys even signed their names in the porch of the General Store. It was dark so we had to use flashlights and almost waited too long.

The awning went on today as well. I will take those pictures tomorrow. It is supposed to rain all day though.

I can’t wait to unveil the finished product. I don’t know how I got so blessed. I am living the dream…”The second star on the left and straight on until morning…” (Wendy)

Y’all come back now!

About the author

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.

As Mrs. Drugger would say, “It is by the grace of God that we…” We all need God’s grace and some of us see it for what it is. You, dear heart, are one of the blessed ones who see it! Will be looking for more of those fantastic photos. It really looks great!
