4-H Demonstration

Posted By admin on March 23, 2009

Samuel joined 4-H last month.  Yes, now I am aware that they break for the summer but hey, cut me some slack, we are homeschoolers!  We don’t have a schedule….well, that is a lie,  we have a schedule just not a typical school schedule.  So in order for him to be a full fledged member he had to complete his yearbook , read a poem, and give a demonstration with everybody during the March meeting.  That meeting was today and his demonstration was about “Collecting and Selling Hickory Nuts”.  He did a beautiful job and even got second place.  Unfortunately in the rush to get there on time I forgot the camera, again.  We also forgot his yearbook so now we get to drive back to Springfield before April 1.  I am so proud of the effort that he put forth in completing everything for the whole year in about 3 weeks.  Quite an undertaking!  Next month they are having a photo contest.  Now that is right up his alley!  That is the last meeting for the year so he made it just in time.

Y’all come back now!

I am a work at home Mom of two of the best boys ever. I am a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and have been grooming out of my home for the last 12 years. We have recently moved to Greenbrier Tn on 27 acres. We are new to the "homesteading thing" but we are excited to learn. We hope to be filling our farm with many critters and a garden. We are homeschoolers so everything is a unit study to us. It has been fun to see the boys help Dad cut firewood. We will also be learning how to build a chicken coop in the near future as well. I have been making handcrafted soap lately as well and I am seeing an improvement in that business as well. It is all natural vegetable and goat milk based soaps. Can't wait to share this experience with everyone.
