Campers

admin | June 28, 2009

We had two campers this weekend. Holly and Rudy are my most frequent campers and to tell the truth…my favorites. They are as different as night and day but completely adorable in their own way. We took before and after pictures this time. I guess they are really after and after [...]

Science

admin | June 27, 2009

In science we have been learning about heat energy. Our experiment this week was taking a magnifying glass and trying to burn a hole in some paper. Well, we can’t stop there. Will other things burn or change?

We tried dog hair (both black and white), sticks, leaves, feathers, my plastic flower [...]

Blackberries

admin | June 25, 2009

Jacob and I went out to pick blackberries last evening. We were hoping it would be cooler but no such luck. There are wild blackberry bushes all along the borders of the woods on the property. Most of the canes are loaded with berries but they are not quite ripe [...]

Father’s Day

admin | June 22, 2009

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day and spent it with their Dad. My Dad arrived that evening so we are kind of celebrating a day late

Mom and Dad have been playing games with the boys all day. We took a walk on the property this morning before it got swelteringly hot. [...]

Recovery

Samuel had his surgery yesterday. It went really smoothly this time. He had 4 baby molars pulled and 2 root canals and 2 crowns. He felt really weird when he woke up but not in much pain.

He was slow to wake up but he bounced back amazingly well. When he realized [...]

Celebration

Night before surgery.

Grammy came into town on Wednesday for Samuel’s surgery. We had a great day at Vacation Bible School on Thursday and then she took us out to eat. Samuel’s favorite thing is Hibachi, which he actually eats! So we all went to Kabuto for Hibachi. We had [...]

Preparing

We are in the throes of getting ready for my Mom to visit. Vacation Bible school is half over and Sam’s dental surgery is looming over us. In all the stress of everything happening at once I can get really overwhelmed. Tonight is one of those nights. We are “Mom” cleaning [...]

Garlic

admin | June 15, 2009

I finally harvested my garlic this year.  It is not as much as I hoped for but it will serve mostly as seed for next year.  I will plant most of it in the 20 x 40 foot garden so that next year I will be selling garlic and garlic powder.  It is curing now [...]

Relaxing Chickens

admin | June 11, 2009

We have had a very busy week so far. I have been fortunate to have a lot of grooming this week and I have been gearing up for Vacation Bible School. Things there are starting to come together nicely.

My oldest child is also in line for some dental surgery a week from tomorrow. [...]

Our neighbors Guy and Randy cut and baled our hay for us. When we left to run errands this morning I am glad I got a picture of the nice neat rows because when we got back…

Volia! Bales of [...]
